BOYFRIEND took shape March 2022, when a couple best friends decided to make their dream of forming a lesbian co-op into a reality.

BOYFRIEND is a space that caters to the queer community and cares for the workers that build it. It's a space with accessible pricing, friendly vibes, fairly compensated bartenders/baristas, yummy drinks, and cutesy décor. It is casual but cute, friendly but sexy. It celebrates racial, sexual, and gender diversity in a comfortable and colorful setting.

BOYFRIEND co-op is your premier spot for coffee and co-working. Queer communities have limited daytime spaces dedicated to their needs. BOYFRIEND is a meeting space for your late afternoon pick-me-ups, your awkward first dates, your poetry workshops, and the ultimate destination to finish your manuscript. Having a space that offers exciting non-alcoholic menu items is pivotal to our vision.

BOYFRIEND's nighttime vibe is kitschier than a Manhattan cocktail bar, but cleaner and more femme than your local dive. Our drink menus are crafted with international and diasporic influence to represent our bartenders and community. We have affordable well drinks alongside more upscale signature cocktails, and no shortage of non-alcoholic options. So grab a drink, and relax with your friends, or take the chance and make some new ones! We'll have plenty of nighttime events designed to help you do just that.

BOYFRIEND is a queer-run worker-owned cooperative. Our workers own the business, and our workers and customers democratically control the business. As a co-op, we're committed to paying our workers a livable wage, creating a space for radical thinking and learning, and prioritizing inclusivity, accessibility, and community.
